WTF IS WLD

White Light Devil is the name of a song/ablum I released in 2017 that I decided to use as an alias for my work. It holds contradiction. When I first thought of it, I imagined an actual devil. Beautiful. Calm. Surrounded by white light. Angelic alomst. The light is never close, yet it always feels a step away. It looks like freedom. Like clarity. You ignore the now for it. You move toward it without noticing you're moving at all. Time passes quietly and before you realize what's happened, you're no longer reaching for the light, you're inside it. And it's dark. The Devil in white light isn't just desire itself.  It's the clean glow of the next idea. Reward without friction. Relief without presence.  Easy dopamine. It feels gentle. It feels convincing. And then the moment is gone. We easily confuse freedom with escape. Leaving things behind. But, freedom is exhaling without needing the moment to turn into something else.  Life is short, yes.  And it's amazing how much we can do with such a short amount of time. White Light Devil is a mirror.  The world reflecting and asking me - what is my next task.
